We are staying at the Senator Mar Menor and they have given us an apartment for the same price as a room because they had missed the notes we put on the booking form about our 2 labradors – we are not officially allowed to have more than one dog over 15kg in the hotel, so Raffy takes bending the rules to the extreme!
Our apartment is on the right, first floor overlooking the pool (which is shut now because we are off-season).
Things have improved, Los Alcazares is well cared for and there are quite a few people about enjoying a walk along the promenade. The weather is not great, it is still raining but we knew it was going to be rainy season.
This is a lovely little town. It has a very nice centre with squares with pavement cafes. There are good shops too. It has a bit more to it than the usual seaside town. At the other end of town there are some lovely villas with beach frontage. There is also an absolutely huge housing estate at the very northern point.
We went up to Torrevieja today for a look around, it was raining so much that we did not get out of the car, so no photos. The town itself is really quite smart but it is a huge place. Certainly got everything you could need but I think a bit lively for us. The place is almost entirely British, you wouldn’t need to worry about learning Spanish if you lived here!
We are heading for Denia tomorrow, so will be back on the blog in a couple of days.
We had a lovely warm day on Sunday and took advantage of the sun on the Wish Tower lawns….almost shorts and t shirt weather. Another glorious warm day to day too! Long may they continue.
The photos are fabulous and we particularly liked the fisherman and mermaids sculpture!
Glad you are having such an amazing adventure
